I consider myself a lightweight hiker. Not going for ultralight. My goal is somewhere in the middle of ultralight and too damn heavy. Whenever I get too caught up in counting ounces, I remind myself that people used to hike long trails with like 80 pound packs.
As of the time of this writing, my base weight is roughly 17 pounds, give or take a little.
